SOT:

Sacro-Occipital Technic

SOT is a specialized chiropractic method that focuses on evaluating and correcting imbalances in the spine, pelvis, and cranial structures to promote optimal nervous system and overall health. SOT integrates chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques, and cranial corrections to restore the body’s natural balance. Based on its name, SOT stems from the relationship between both ends of the spine, the sacrum and the occiput, and how it influences neurological, structural, and CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) flow mechanisms from a functional perspective.

SOT care also includes Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique (CMRT) which is a system of organ function, analysis, and treatment as it relates to the spine and occipital tendon insertions. CMRT addresses vertebral subluxation and soft tissue reflexes to help nourish the organs. CMRT provides a whole-body approach to simulating and healing specific organs in the body, and it also can address chronic subluxations and health concerns.

One of the most unique aspects of SOT is Craniopathy, or Chiropractic Cranial Adjusting, which addresses alignment and movement of cranial bones. Learn more about it on the “Services” page.

Dr. Shivani is Certified Proficient in SOT through SORSI. She also has training through the Peak Potential Institute and is working on certifications in pediatric SOT care.
